This senior-level Project Manager will lead a strategic initiative for a large credit union focused on ontology development and data warehouse integration. The role is critical to modernizing the organization’s data ecosystem, aligning data semantics across 14 integrated applications, and improving enterprise-wide reporting, governance, and analytics. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with data architects, engineers, and business leaders to drive the design and implementation of an enterprise ontology that supports scalable, secure, and consistent data practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, design, and buildout of a formal ontology supporting enterprise data warehouse integration.
  • Coordinate alignment of business requirements with technical ontology and semantic models.
  • Manage project timelines, milestones, cross-functional communication, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Facilitate approval processes for ontology design, governance, and iteration cycles.
  • Oversee integration touchpoints across 14 interconnected platforms and ensure dependencies are managed proactively.
  • Support quality assurance, risk management, and change management processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Escalate issues during critical phases and ensure timely resolution to maintain project continuity.

Required Qualifications

  • Senior-level experience with 5+ years managing enterprise data, integration, or architecture-related projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead hybrid and distributed technical teams.
  • Strong project management, resource planning, and cross-department facilitation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience within financial services or familiarity with core banking platforms.
  • English language proficiency required.

Preferred Skills

  • Direct experience with Scimitar core systems (preferred) and/or SPLUNK.
  • Background in ontology modeling, metadata standards, or semantic layer design.
  • Experience integrating multi-vendor applications into unified data environments.
  • Knowledge of ontology lifecycle management and governance processes.
  • PMP, Agile, or related professional certifications.
  • Experience with API integrations, metadata modeling, or cross-platform data architecture.

Work Arrangement

Remote, with required travel to Salt Lake City, Utah for the first two weeks and for critical project phases.

Role supports an Utah-based credit union, with work conducted remotely anywhere in the U.S. (with occasional travel).


Contract Details

  • 6-month contract, with extensions likely beyond 12 months.
  • Rate: DOE (Depends on Experience).
